The much planned and hyped “Quit Facebook Day” by several Facebook users on May 31 has flopped resulting in just a little 30,000 Facebook users of over 500 million Facebook users deleted their Facebook accounts yesterday. “Quit Facebook Day” was planned by several unhappy Facebook users who were fed up with the not so good security of their Facebook profiles.

Last few days Facebook received severe criticism from all over for sharing users content with its advertisers and other 3rd parties which Facebook has outrightly denied till now. To satisfy its users Facebook made several changes in its user privacy control settings page where users have lots of control of who can view their profiles including to that of 3rd party applications and advertisers. Now even they have made it easy for an average internet user understand to change his profile settings according to his wish which before was little difficult. This might be the reason why many users who promised to quit Facebook did not delete their profiles. According to AFP around 33,000 Facebook users only deleted their accounts yesterday which is very less when compared to its strong 500 million users base.
